Hollywood actor Johnny Depp after wrapping up the shooting of ‘Alice in Wonderland’, has started shooting for his new film ‘The Tourist’ opposite Angelina Jolie in Venice, Italy. Johnny Depp who became a teen idol in 1980s thanks to his role as undercover officer Tom Hanson on the TV cop show ‘21 Jump Street’ is also set to make a cameo appearance in the planned ‘Jump Street’ movie. When asked the ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ star said "I'm hoping they'll let me do a cameo. Someone will say, 'Whatever happened to Tom Hanson?' and they'll find me somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants." ‘Jump Street’ is being developed by Sony Pictures with Jonah Hill set to write, produce, as well as star in the yet to start production film. Meanwhile for his new film ‘The Tourist’, the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor shot for scenes in Palazzo Oisani Moretta over the Grand Canal. Shooting had already started with Angelina Jolie, on February 23rd in Paris, France.

In ‘The Tourist’, the actor who has done films like  the ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘Chocolat’,  and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mexico’ plays an American tourist who finds his life in danger when a female Interpol agent, played by Angelina Jolie; uses him as a bait to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she had an affair ‘The Tourist’ is a remake of French film ‘Anthony Zimmer’ (2005) that had Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff The film also stars Christopher McQuarrie and Julian Fellowes to write the script which is slated for early release in 2011.
