Miramax has released a trailer for the new rom-com ‘The Switch’ their last film before shutting down. The film stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Patrick Wilson, Jeff Goldblum, Juliette Lewis and others. ‘The Switch’ was earlier titled ‘The Baster’ based on the cooking tool used by Jennifer Aniston’s character Kassie for artificial insemination.
‘The Switch’ is the story of an 40-year-old unmarried women, Kassie Larson who chooses a friends sperm to conceive artificially, but the sperm gets replaced by someone else's sperm and the child she thinks is the son of the man she preferred Roland (Patrick Wilson) isn’t so. 7 years later when Jennifer Aniston reunites with her best friend Wally (Jason Bateman), finds out that the child is his, as he had drunkenly switched sperms of Roland with his own and the boy has a neurotic problem similar to him. Wally then tries to be a good father for his son without telling Kassie the truth. The film almost closely resembles Jennifer Aniston’s own struggle to be a mother after her divorce with Brad Pitt.
‘The Switch’ has been co-directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, who have directed films ‘Blades of Glory’ and ‘Culture’. The film has screenplay by Allan Loeb of ‘21’ and ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ fame. The film is based on a short story by author Jeffrey Eugenides. ‘The Switch’ is scheduled for release on August 20th 2010. With ‘The Switch’ Jennifer Aniston continues her preference for rom-coms like ‘Marley & Me’, ‘Break Up’, ‘The Bounty Hunter’. tfc18.com hopes that the actress finds a donor for her child in real life
